How much does a website cost for a contractor in Central Florida?

The short answer

In Central Florida, a properly built contractor website typically runs $2,000 to $8,000 as a one-time project from an independent studio or freelancer, $10,000 and up from a larger agency, and $20 to $80 a month if you build it yourself on Wix or Squarespace. The sticker price is the wrong thing to compare, though. What matters is whether the site is built to rank locally, whether it converts visitors into calls, and whether you own it outright when it's done, because a cheap site you rent forever costs more than an expensive one you own.

What actually drives the price

A contractor site isn't expensive because of how it looks. It's expensive because of what has to be built underneath: individual pages for each service you offer and each city you serve (that's what local rankings run on), copy that's actually written rather than pasted from a template, image handling that keeps the site fast on a phone, structured data so Google and AI assistants can read your business, and call tracking so you know which pages produce jobs. A $1,500 site and a $6,000 site can look similar in a screenshot. They perform nothing alike in search.

Ongoing costs are separate and honest vendors will itemize them: hosting and a domain should run under $200 a year for a well-built site, not hundreds a month. If someone quotes you a big monthly fee 'for the website,' ask precisely what it covers. Sometimes it's real SEO work. Often it's rent.

The pricing traps to watch for

The most common trap in the trades is the 'free' or cheap-monthly website where the provider keeps ownership of the domain, the design, or both. The day you stop paying, your site, and every ranking it earned, disappears. The second trap is per-lead platforms that build you a page but sell the same leads to your competitors. The third is the $500 template job: it exists, it loads, and it will never rank against a competitor who invested properly, so it quietly costs you every job that searched and found them instead.

None of these are scams exactly. They're just structured so the provider keeps the asset and you keep the bill.

03

The math that actually matters

For a high-ticket trade, the payback question is short. A single re-roof, kitchen remodel, or pool project in Seminole County is worth thousands to tens of thousands of dollars. If a properly built site brings in even a few jobs a year that would otherwise have gone to a competitor, it has paid for itself several times over. And unlike ad spend, it doesn't stop working when you stop feeding it. That's the frame we'd use whether you hire us or anyone else: not 'what does the site cost' but 'how many jobs does it need to win to be free.'
